Record Number of 23 Physicians to Participate
Meet the 26–27 Cohort of the ABMS Scholars Program
Established in 2014, the one-year, part-time program supports early-career physicians and researchers in scholarship and leadership development focusing on initial and continuing board certification. Each ABMS Scholar receives a $15,000 financial award.

Act Establishes Standards for Recognition of Physician Certifying Bodies
ABMS Member Boards designated by the Defense Health Agency as physician certifying organizations, naming the 24 ABMS Member Boards as organizations that meet the newly approved criteria.

The ABMS Research and Education Foundation (ABMS REF) has announced the recipients of its 2026-2028 research grants. In its third year, the program awarded four two-year, $75,000 grants representing $300,000 in funding, and is part of a continued commitment by the ABMS REF to support independent research into the process of achieving and maintaining high certification standards.
