Valerie M. Parisi, MD, MPH, MBA

Dr. Valerie M. Parisi serves as secretary-treasurer on the executive committee of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).  In this role, she is chair of the Finance and Audit Committee and acts as a member of the Liaison Committee for Specialty Boards (LCSB).
 
Prior to her assuming this leadership position, Dr. Parisi served as a member of the ABMS Finance Committee and was a representative from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) to the ABMS Assembly. For six years, Dr. Parisi sat on the Board of Directors for the Society for Perinatal Obstetricians (now the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine) prior to her being elected president of the organization.  Dr. Parisi currently is vice dean for hospital relations and clinical affairs as well as a professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.

Dr. Parisi received her MD from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island; her MPH from the University of California School of Public Health in Berkeley, Calif.; and her MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler School of Business in Chapel Hill, NC.  Dr. Parisi is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a subspecialty in maternal and fetal medicine.
