Founded in 1971, the ABMS Research & Education Foundation has long been the source of excellent research and publications. The Foundation actively initiates or partners with academic, healthcare, foundation and government entities to explore the current quality of healthcare and to develop ways to improve it through excellence in clinical medicine, continuing education and research. Its key strategic activities are centered on three key strategies:
- Guiding, facilitating and collaborating in research concerning certification and MOC from a national and international perspective
- Conducting and facilitating education initiatives regarding certification and MOC for external stakeholders from a national and international perspective
- Developing relationships and securing funding to expand key activities for accomplishing its mission
